If season ticket holders aren't important how come Eric was complaining about the lack of them ?
They form the foundations of the clubs support by committing money up front to the club, up to 12 months in advance in some cases. Most clubs wouldn't survive without them. Obviously they are so few Stanley have taken the view they don't need them anyway.
