A bit off topic, but my boyfriends car was parked up last week and a wagon crashed into it and because my boyfriend drives the GTI model of a VW Golf, he had to explain to his insurance why he picked that particular car to buy so that he could have a courtesy car.
I think its completely wrong that because he's a young male driving a particular car that it could jeopardise him having a hire car, paricularly when he wasn't in the car when it got damaged.
People shouldn't assume all the time that young lads drive like idiots and get themselves into these messes. The majority of drivers drive a bit over the speed limit, its pretty much the norm, but when these lads crash doing it its seen as 'typical'.
My boyfriend nearly crashed the other day because an idiot on a mobile phone was driving like a maniac on the motorway, yet my boyfriend was going at the limit yet I bet they'd point the finger at him before they criticised the guy on the phone!
