Re: school letters
Think it's up to the school as to what they do really.
My son would never bring letters home, and school knew this so any letters that were to come home were given to my younger daughter to bring home.
Have to agree with you though that it would have been nice for the teacher to mention it on friday, or a letter on the door so you could read it when you picked your child up
