I had ...note had a phobia of needles and knew that one day I would have to conquer this fear of them.... especially as having kids would involve having blood checked when pregnant etc....
How did I get over it...I gave blood.. I went probably 18 years ago, explained my fears and they were fantastic..especially when I fainted twice
they took it slowly and explained everything with me.
But now, although I still have a strong dislike for them and certainly can't watch a needle..I can happily give blood, and now it's more to do with thinking what if my kids needed blood and there wasn't any!!!!!
