When he conquered Everest it was massively publicised as a british expidition and a triumph for britain and the commonwealth. It is absolutely ridiculous that a member of the royal family, especially the queen the head of the state in all of the commonwealth, is not attending.
The guy did something both our nation and New Zealand are very proud of so its only right we show our respects in every way we can.
