The council provide and maintain litter bins to try and prevent the depositing of litter in public places and arrange for the bins to be emptied on a regular basis. The fixed penalty fine for dropping litter is £70
The Dog Warden and a team of Enforcement Officers are responsible for enforcing the Dogs Fouling of Land Act which requires owners of dogs to clean up their faeces. Anyone found committing an offence under this Act will be issued with a £50 fixed penalty.
