It might be less expensive for you to pay the £500 and fix it yourself. If they write it off you will loose the £2k you spent on the lpg. If you buy another car that will be another £2k for an lpg install unless you decide to stick with a standard diesel car. I would have thought your cars value would have been higher due to the lpg. I suppose the lpg will have paid for itself in the couple of years you have had the car.
