Re: kill it, cook it, eat it?

It is very dark strong flavour which can vary from like strong flavour beef(nice) and nasty 'off' game taste. It depends what type of deer it was and whether it fed on grass or pine needles.

I got some from Asda a few months ago -was the nasty version - got binned.
I used to eat it regularly 30 yrs ago, but then I had whole carcasses delivered and prepared it myself for home freezing - knew what it had eaten by the food remains in the ribcage. (It had been skinned deheaded and gutted before delivery - I don't think I would have coped with it otherwise).

That was a time when I was married to that nutter half-Iti, who wouldn't eat beef, lamb or pork, and insisted on wild meat only. The other wild meat we ate, were mallard duck and pheasant which can only be got in the game season and needed a seperate 10ft freezer to store a years supply. (which is a further demonstration of how I let that nut case control my life -grr )
