I don't mean to be tight but what's in it for me? I am not overweight but I am a taxpayer, just because I have what they deem a normal BMI, does this mean that I have to pay for an obese person to lose weight?
If the government were serious about the obesity problem then they would employ what I call the Mac Tax and inflate the prices of ready meals (many of which have been shown to be bad for you), kebabs, junk food outlets, crisps, cakes, sweets etc and reduce the prices of fresh fruit, fresh veg, fish, lean meat. The tax from the junk food could be used to subsidise our farmers and make the fresh food cheaper...

Most skinny/normal sized people eat crap and have no problems. Changing prices doesn't make any difference I think, vegetables, fruit and lean meats are already cheaper than all that crap in my experience as a student on a tight budget.
How do people put on weight eating ready meals anyway? You hardly get a big enough portion!
