Saying it has nothing to with is not quite right. An easier description for bandwidth would be the rate of download ( which I suppose is speed for all intents )

Your on 8meg so you max would be 8mega bits per second. You actually get 2.272Mb you said due to be on the postcode lottery broadband other wise known as ADSL.

I am on 20Mbit broadband so in theory can have a max download rate of 20 megabits per second.

The download allowance is just that. You have a limit of 5Gb you said, that needs to be quantified over time, it will be per month.

The two get confused and the ISP's don't help when they say things like you have a 5Gb bandwidth limit when they mean download allowance.

I have explained it poorly I think. Ian will be along soon and explain it better for us all I am sure.
