Re: LOL @ the "green" man david cameron...
This was an amusing story and there can be no defense of breaking traffic laws. Full Stop.
To his credit, Cameron apologised, took responsibility and - I know this will come as a shock to most Labour minded individuals, didnt try to spin it into anything that it wasnt. There were no excuses made, no special treatment, nothing. He didnt even ask what it was a mirror reporter (who was also breaking the law) was doing following him in the first place. Im sure a Labour paper wouldn't really try and hunt a story down in a character assassination attempt and this was just pure luck that the reporter was just doing the same route Mr Cameron was doing at the same time. Thinking about it, if the best a Labour paper can do to pick apart opposition policy is to analyse the Leader's bike ride, they really must be scraping the bottom of the barrel!
I saw Mr Cameron's acknowledgment to the Prime Minister during Prime Ministers Questions about the Dali Lama - nice to see a true statesman crossing the isle and recognising a good decision to meet the Dali Lama. Its a shame that the Prime Minister is so locked into self defense that he wasnt enough of a statesman to handle the complement correctly rather than firing back a cheap insult.
