Well....no, because they were not such a phenomenum. The Beatles were just a part of the "revolution" that was the 60s. Like it or not things changed irrevocably, whether for better for worse is open to discussion, and the Beatles, their music, the fashions and the morality of the time were all part and parcel of the "scene". They became iconic, due to some talent and a good deal of clever marketing, and it follows that things and people connected with them are going to attract attention.
