The Beatles retired from touring four years before they broke up.
I like that The Beatles weren't resurrected at any point. For me, a big Beatles fan, it further encapsulates the enigma that is them and their music.
Like, I love The Who's music, but they should've broke up when Moon died and even more so when John Entwistle died a few years ago. The tour de force that was The Who is now two weak old blokes who are losing their credibility because there's no decent new material.
Likewise I believe The 'Stones should've given it up long ago because now they're just doing it for the money. I lost all respect for the Stones when they claimed all the royalties for The Verve's 'Bittersweet Symphony' back in the nineties. Money driven fools. They sold out completely
