go to add remove programs, remove all java installs. reboot, then goto the link Mick posted and download/install that. Java Virtual Machines are teh runtime engine that makes teh chat program work. It sounds like your browser is trying to start more than one which suggests that you have a config issue. remove them all install just the one and it should be fine.
What browser are you using?
