That’s a bit unfair. Tarring all the people of Malta with the same brush. In fact it is a lot unfair.
Although my personal experience of the Maltese people is 50 years old, I found them to be no different to any other people of the world. They, just like the UK, have a criminal element but the greater majority are friendly, hospitable, showed great resolution and bravery and suffered greatly during WWII to support the UK.
Indeed Malta isn’t just Malta but Malta GC. The people of the islands were collectively awarded the George Cross.
In fact if it wasn’t for the Maltese people the British Africa campaigns during WWII would not have happened and the world would have been a different place today.
