That backup you found under system tools is not the one I refered to,
that is to make backups of your work to CD or DVD
DO NOT try to do any thing with the other partition until u find out from the instruction book what its for, any way backing up to another partition on the same drive is useless, if the drive motor packs up.

I never had that before - so it is probably just as you say.
Now I have got it up and running I had better read more about it.
