Must have been a terrible decision for the doctors to make and it is so very hard to deny some poor soul sitting on a waiting list…living in hope.
I would have thought that prioritisation of benefactor would have been more “success/rejection” orientated and not waiting list driven. Given that it was a Mother /daughter scenario in this case, I think the docs should have been more flexible in their interpretation of the Donor laws.
I have noticed elsewhere that some donors state that they will tear their cards up due to this case, which is just childish. In my eyes it highlights the need for more donors not less.
