my friend once handed in a wallet to the police station in blackburn he didnt even open it, he got a call from the police saying that the contents of the wallet were missing, so before you see a wallet/purse or whatever on the floor i would have someone witness that you hav'nt opened it before handing it into the police or you too may get accused of theft
