I had fire training... including how to use a fire extinguisher... not at all as easy as it looks!( especially when you are heavily pregnant ) My fire assessment was pretty nasty, a bit like my child protection one.. i had a fireman (again ...oooh... firemen ) giving me all the worse case senarious and asking what i would do.....fire escape plans in a child care setting are not nice because you are trained that you may not be able to get all the children out and to concentrate on the ones you have with you at the time and hope that someone gets the others out

For example... if i am downstairs with 2 children and there is a baby upstairs asleep and there is a fire.... what do i do??

get the 2 children out.. going to get the baby would put 2 children at risk to save one.... Dont think i would be able to live with myself either way!
