Re: General Election Tomorrow

Before the '97 election, and fearing high taxation, Paul Daniels threatened to leave the country if Labour were elected to power. A statement which probably helped gain Labour quite a few votes.

Ten years later, rather than the feared high taxation for big earners, we have the reverse. London has the most billionaires in the world outside of Manhatten, and Russian Ogliarchs are queueing up to live in the U.K., with it's low rates of tax for the super rich.

On the otherhand, the lowest paid in the country, including many pensioners are worse off, and the measly promise of being able to claim some rebate really doesn't wash...well I bet it hasn't washed enough to convince the electorate come Thursday.

The sooner Brown goes the better.

A shambles.
