I guess the receptionists are just attempting to control the workload of the G.P. and most likely working under the instruction of the G.P or Practice Manager. If I was to bear that in mind then I would hope to stay calm and just politely decline to discuss the issue with anyone other than my G.P.

Luckily I have had no stroppy/nosey receptionists to deal with up to now, I can imagine it must be bloody annoying to say the least to have to deal with one.
