Maybe they had some knowlege that members of the Labour Group did not have.
The information was disingenuous to say the least. At least the information on the first Labour leaflet was taken from a reputable daily newspaper.

I can only comment on leaflets I actually have any knowledge about. The information on the labour leaflet was taken from a reputable newspaper indeed, just the Labour party either A) thought they could con everyone with the figures or B) don't understand the figures. They're also dated incorrectly, at least Graham knows they are or else he would have replied already, but as usual he only comes on here and replies when it makes him look good but avoids it when it might have negative implications.
IF the leaflet is simply saying 'Labour will introduce car parking charges' (and I have no idea where you mean because I havent seen the leaflet, seen what context it is in, or anything). And if it is true that the Labour group never mentioned anything of the sort then why are you not kicking up more of a fuss over complete falsehoods to the election commission?
Obviously over the council tax issue it's not against the rules to con the public as long as what you put there is fact, which of course it is fact, just that the facts are worked out inaccurately and have no real relevance to Hyndburn being an expensive council or not.
