Kate they had to pin it, at first they said they would replace it but because of where the break was pinning was the only option. Just hope she doesn't get any infection now, they really stressed that this is one of the risks of any surgery.

Sounds like the fracture may have been in line or something ? Anyway, best of luck to her for successful 'knitting'.
That lift sounds a bit lethal to me.
