To what extent should a people go in order to throw out an invader? Agreed this is a terrible and horrifying way to fight; but I think something like this obscures the point that all this would not be happening if GWB had not had a hard on for invading someone ... to the point that, along with Blair, he manufactured a causus belli ... the weopons of mass destruction. The truly sad thing is that in Iraq we have long since passed the point of no return; even if the occupying forces were to leave tomorrow, they have managed to screw up the country to such an extent, that horror stories like these will be coming out of that part of the world for a long time.
