All mentioned so far have fond memories, but the biggest thrill for me was a book I'm surprised hasn't yet been mentioned, was the one I remember my parent's reading to me and then I read to my children.

Wind In The Willows.

So many questions of, how, when, why, that I asked and then they were repeated to me and so difficult to explain, I had the same problem with mine! But the joys of the book, (and then taking them to the Cinema, (still so much better than renting a video), and watching joy on their faces), as the story unfolds before their eyes, because they know that bit! Yes, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and others can be heroes but nothing is like seeing the written word transformed into the adventures those animals went through.

O.K. so that's my thought anyway!
