High school teachers teach several classes a day, it's hard to have the same relationship with the pupils there that you would have with primary school children that you teach every day, all day.

You have SATs at the end of primary school to be put into your classes at high school, then reassessed in year 9 to make sure you are in the right sets for GCSE. I don't recall anyone finding them stressful, they were just something you did. I don't recall anybody revising for them I certainly didn't anyway.

How long have SAT's been used for this purpose? Where they used when you were at school?
