Westender, I can't give you a definitive answer to that.
Each individual case was different. No-one would ever force someone who didn't believe in the termination of a pregnancy, to have one.
I would never like to return to the days of women trying to procure a termination of pregnancy by unsafe means......and it is usually the poorer women who are the one who would suffer. Rich women have always been able to get such treatment at the hands of a sympatheitc gynaecologist(who was paid very well for the service).
