Re: anyone taken part in a 'new' drug trial

Being a YOP, someone who was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease under forty, hence Young Onset Parkinson's, is quite rare, and I'm often asked to trial new drugs.

I really don't mind, in the hope it could help me as well as research.

Some of the side effects have been horrendous, hallucinations, hearing voices, projectile vomiting. Pretty much what happens after a good night at an Accy Web meet.

I recently trialed a new drug patch. Again I had to stop when the side effects became too bad, though I did make them laugh when my biggest complaint was that it was just too fiddly for people with Parkinson's, as it involved opening too tiny foil envelopes, and peeling back the plaster, a bit hard to do when your fingers don't do what you want them to do.
