How do other Accy-web users feel about being used as human guinea pigs ? , personally I have no objection , if it works , good , if it doesnt ...oh well , sure the stuff has been well tested on rats and chimps, with no serious side effects , and probably in some third world country and now they want to test the stuff on folks with "western/European" lifestyles.
I just have a problem with the drug companies whilst doing noble works in finding new cures and stuff, have some of their priorities screwed up , they make Billions with a B on stuff like Viagra ,yet expect folks to volunteer (unpaid) for medications which in my mind are more important .
What do you think , should human guniea pigs recieve some recompense from the drug companies or not ? , note, volunteering for partaking in a trial means signing reams and reams of paperwork absolving the manufacturer of any responsibility .
p.s. I'm not a skinflint looking for money , just the fact that these Drug companies profits are outrageous to my way of thinking .

Anyone care to comment .......

also why don't new paragraph indents work ?
The only problem with taking part in drug trials is that you have to stop taking your normal medication, which hopefully has been keeping you hale and hearty.

What if the ‘new’ drug isn’t as effective as your old one? Or worse still doesn’t do anything and you get very ill or even snuff it?

Apart from all that, if the drug companies want to trial a new drug on humans they should pay them AND if the trial goes wrong, fork out substantial pre-determined damages.
