Cashman - Mr Bellamy is only the master of the house - the patriarch - the one who supplies the wherewithall to keep the household going (though Lady Marjorie's fortune has helped a bit). He's very important to the plot, becomes an MP (I'm afraid he's a Tory), and keeps going long after Lady M has succumbed to that iceberg.  |
