And once you have (or someone has) found a way to make parents reponsible, then we can work on making cats obey commands, square the circle, grab onto a bunch of neutrinos and travel at the speed of light etc. It's more than parenting, there has been a sea change in British society; the old values, for better or worse, are gone and there seems to be nothing to fill the vacuum ... jailing parents is a band aid solution for a problem that needs major surgery ... it's cute, but it won't work.
Anyway, jail ain't all that bad; just spent a little time there myself for defying a court order to stop blocking uranium prospecting on land claimed by the Ardoch Algonquin First Nation .... and just as a little slammer time won't stop me from standing up and being counted for what I believe in, it won't make a complete waste of skin into a responsible parent.
