your saying people but some people are scum and would rather buy cigarettes and beer than give their children proper food . it was all about education a child will learn more with a half empty tummy rather than an empty one and that is fact so your argument has just been blown away .the thing is there was no mininuim wage in them days so the poor worker was even more exploited by business and people couldnt afford proper food so theres another point of your argument gone...ps i just remembered why we can afford other things now it was labour who brought in the minimum wage,ohh and who opposed it the caring tory party.mmmmmm
