your 40p mile is well over estimated kate, I work on approx 12p mile and that is at the price of petrol now, as I recently filled my car up when I must have been driving on fumes and it cost me £42 and if I was using it on motorway driving as Knutsford would be then I would get about 350 miles to a tank... so if it is 40 miles x 12p then it would be £4.80 one way
