I was once given a pheasant which had been killed by a car.
The bird appeared intact, and I thought 'no gunshot to get out - good'
BUT - when gutting it I found that its internal organs were ruptured and the innards were putrifying jelly.
The smell was horrendous - Hughie
It went straight in the bin.
