I would just like to point out that teachers are, on the whole, quite responsible people who are not, as a rule, given to "bunking off" school without the head's permission. They are, generally, in the teaching profession because they believe in the value of education, even for little horrors who think it's OK to turn up for school either late or not at all. Neither you, nor I, nor anyone else knows why the teacher was in the Butty shop during school hours. If she was there with permission surely the head teacher would have made the point to the reporter? But he didn’t.
