The NHS is too top-down and political. The people on the ground understand the problems, and a lot of them understand how they could be fixed. Therefore they are ignored by the powers that be.

Politics affects it with targets, targets, targets. I've had terrible experiences with the NHS. Waited months to see a consultant, err.. registrar, only to be shoved back out the door 5minutes later with medication I'd already tried. Problem not solved, target met.
