Agreed. I would have thought that the only way to evaluate a trialist would be to play him against League 2 opposition. That would have to be our own first team squad. The friendlies should then be used to allow the first team squad to gel as a team and to put into practice some of the dead-ball ploys rehearsed on the training ground. Oops, sorry - there I go again into the realms of fantasy. |
