I have a work colleague who is Asian who went to a parents evening. During the course of a conversation with a Teacher she said "Whats that up on the blackboard?" The teacher instantly went off on one about how she couldnt call it that, and when asked why the teacher replied "it might offend Asians".

My colleague said "well whats that over there then" to which the teacher replied "oh its a whiteboard" My friend asked if she was offended by that term to which the teacher went" No of course I`m not". So my friend replied "well dont be so stupid about that board then...its a board and its black". The teacher didnt quite get this....

As always its some people assuming what others think/feel and trying to impose that on everyone. Christmas is a Christian religious festival, and if Christians want to celebrate it then they should, exactly as we respect when other faiths celebrate their religious times.
