I do BOC (better off calculations) everyday and they do vary depending on age, circumstances. There are lots of different premiums such as over 50 you will receive a premium for this, being disadvantaged in the work place you can receive a prmium for this working 30 hours plus also has a premium. If you earn 15,000 pa then you will receive less tax credits but may still get full child tax credit. The government are introducing return to work credits (£40.00 per week for the 1st twelve months)for people returning to work who are on health related benefits. If you think you are not getting correct tax credits or child tax credits or any of the premiums mentioned above it may be worth visiting your local CAB and they can do a BOC for you, no point asking JCP as they are not really interested in people who have already returned to the work place.
