Do most people eat meals on trays in front of the telly?

Just reminded me of a few years ago when I was buying a new dining room suite. I had a large oval teak dining table to dispose of and I offered it to the Red Cross, the YMCA and the Salvation Army. They all turned it down because "nobody wants a table that size" but the local hospice shop eventually took it, with very bad grace. I don't think many people do sit at the table any more and I think that's quite sad.
