When I lived in Bolton, I had a council house, and once every now and again I think it was a few times a year, the Council would run a skip day, whereby you could basically put outside your house anything you didn't want, ie furniture etc and they would remove it for free.
They also used to provide big skips and you can just put all your rubbish in. It was great, obviously the idea was to stop fly tipping and it worked really well.
I know its an expensive thing to do, but justifiable??
