Only teh cheap supermarket type, buy good sausages from a decent butcher and they are proper meat.
The shop in Ossy mills does mnice ones but he is a little dearer than most places, Whittakers on Blackburn Market do lovely Lamb and Pork and Black Pudding ones.
Until a couple of years ago I used to go to Keswick each year and bring back 25lbs of Cumberland sausage from a particular butcher that was shared round friends and family. They were the best sausage I've ever had to this day by a couontry mile. Good really course mince, right amount of fat, no breadcrumbs/oatmeal, perfectly spiced and just absolutely delicious! My mum started going there ~40 years ago when they were on holiday one year and kept going back. The inconsiderate sod went and emigrated to Oz.
