I have worked in care for many years - in nurseries with children. I have come to the conclusion that working around people that have an attitude of "i am alright jack" and will do anything to pull each other down is tiring and emotionally draining. Yes there are people who are ideal for being carers but because they are ideal they are easily affected by the attitudes of people who arent really ideal for that job. There arent many team players in the role of care maybe because there attitude makes them think the world owes them a favour for doing the job in the first place.
Flashy I have recently left childcare and will not go back to anything in that field again- dont get me wrong there is nothing more rewarding than working with people who need your care in whatever way - its the staff i cant work around anymore.
so my solution........ i went and enrolled onto a BA homours graphic design course it is something I always wanted to do and my health is rapidly improving, even though i havent even started it yet lol
Have you thought of going back to college - they take mature students on sometimes without qualifications that younger people would be asked to have - it may be worth a look then you could be heading towards doing something that really excites you
but I would say steer clear of care - yes you probably are damn good at it - but maybe it is now time for some "you time"
best of luck
