Well, like I said .. the fact that he opened the first door pleased him to do so, and probably would be embarassed if you opened the second door for him particularly, as so often happens, colleagues of your host are on the other side of the door. I wouldn't feel cheeky, just acknowledging respect for his manners.
I have shown many women into offices that I have worked in, and would always open the doors for them .. not just a man/woman thing in business situations, just a welcoming invitation to proceed.
