Beryl, born in Accrington, was a bit of a tartar but George wasn't quite as henpecked as he liked to make out. Beryl was happy to be blamed for "stopping" George doing things - that he didn't want to do anyway - so no-one would ever blame George.
However, she never managed to stop him buying big cars, fast motorbikes and boats, or doing anything else that he liked doing.
I don't know if she was on one of his records but she certainly appeared in a couple of films with him.
