I did start a thread on the Calder a few months ago. I am sure if you did a search you will find the thread with my disastrous experience of the outlet fully detailed.
I think y9our first priority should be improving the standard of customer service.
As for the kids v no kids policy. I would say definitely no kids, but then I only get inot Accrington about once every six months, so you will not achieve your targets if you rely on my custom.
Child friendly pubs appeal to one section of the market only and probably frighten off twice as many people as they attract.
