I thought the grey area was making backup copies of your own disk.

Something like Anydvd removes all the protection so you can do what you want with your own disks.

For copying after installing Anydvd you can use most software - clonedvd is easy. dvdshrink will make big movies fit on 4.7Gb disks ( I think clonedvd will as well but not used it for ages)
