I don't know if any of you have noticed but inflation seems to be amongst us once again.

I try not to do 'shopping', but being mortal inevitably I have to go and get food somewhere.

I was shocked to find that my favourite snack 'Twiglets', had gone up from 89p to 1.48p at my local store.

So I searched the shelves and discovered that a Jar of marmite (125g) is only, £1.00.

Then I discovered in the 'Polish section', some salty sticks called Paluski, admitted they aren't twiglets (19p per 70g), but if you carefully spread the Marmite onto these then put them in an oven for 3 hours on gas mark 4 the salt explodes and the biscuit puffs up resulting in something near to the experience that was given by Twiglets.
O.k. my first attempt at this meant a spend of,

£1.00 Marmite
£0.19 Paluski

and this wasn't anywhere near the amount buying twiglets is.

But, I have only scraped a tiny fraction off the surface of the jar of Marmite, I reckon I have about six years worth of the stuff to go through even if I am frivolous enough to buy two packs of Paluski per week.
