I was born in 1978, my grandparents on my mother's side did not live long lives. My maternal grandad died in 1975 aged 59 and my maternal grandma died in 1976 aged 55.

I would have dearly loved to have known them.

My grandad on my father's side died aged 75 in 1996 and my paternal grandma died in 2004 aged 84. They used to look after me in the school holidays and my grandma in particular used to say such funny things. She was feisty too.

She was feisty too. __________________ Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs, cackling and telling me 'You'll be next.' They stopped when I started doing the same to them at funerals.
