The Spice Girls and Oasis have both already won this award. Spice Girls in 2000 and Oasis in 2007.

Didn't know that - I don't really pay attention to the Brits. It's very telling that at least two younger bands than PSB have won the achievement award before PSB did, though...

Agreed. And it's worth remembering that peoples' musical tastes change, so if the bands don't change too, the only way they can continue to make a contribution is if they appeal to a new generation.
Music is a bit like football- one person's opinion is another person's incitement. I think there are bands better suited to an "outstanding contribution" award, but at least I can acknowledge PSB have produced some good stuff in their history. Classing Ozzy Osborne as a
living legend is, frankly, ridiculous. (Don't jump down my neck for that one- I'm sure all the Ozzy fans are going to see that as a personal attack. It's not, it's just an opinion...)
